ASEBA and CBCL
Great news! Amnicare now has the rights to ASEBA, with the tools for children being the first to be included, namely CBCL, TRF, YSR, and BPM. These tools are considered by many to be leading in their field with very high quality.
One challenge with using CBCL has been that it is on paper, making it complex to score and manage. By becoming a digital part of Amnicare, the routines are significantly simplified and can create great value for child and adolescent psychiatry in Sweden. It can now be used for all admissions to BUP (Child and Adolescent Psychiatry), instead of only in special cases.
This is what ASEBA themselves say:
The Achenbach System of Empirically Based Assessment (ASEBA) offers a comprehensive approach to assessing adaptive and maladaptive functioning. Developed through decades of research and practical experience to identify actual patterns of functioning, the ASEBA provides professionals with user-friendly tools.
Numerous studies demonstrate significant associations between ASEBA scores and both diagnostic and special education categories. You can relate ASEBA directly to DSM-5 diagnostic categories by using the DSM-oriented scales for scoring ASEBA forms.
