For research and development
We support healthcare organisations in:
- obtaining informed consent from research participants and, where appropriate, their relatives or carers
- developing and quality-assuring new digital tools
- collecting research data through structured digital forms
- sharing relevant information with participants throughout the course of a study
- evaluating and further developing tools based on collected data
Amni Care is a CE-marked medical device (MDR Class IIa), ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and supporting the development of clinically safe, high-quality digital solutions.
This enables, for example, the streamlined validation of new digital tools. Once validated, they can be efficiently deployed for clinical use across regions, private providers, and other healthcare organisations.
Your data collection, made simple
Amni Care enables research teams to design structured programmes that automate and streamline data collection over time. The programme functionality allows multiple validated measurement instruments to be deployed simultaneously and at predefined intervals, supporting robust and efficient study design.
Research set-up
The research team develops a study protocol and obtains approval from the relevant ethics review authority where required.
Participant registration
Participants, drawn from either general or clinical populations, are enrolled and the research programme is initiated.
Informed consent
Amni Care facilitates the digital provision of participant information and the collection of informed consent in accordance with approved study protocols. Consent can be managed via electronic identification or alternative approved mechanisms, depending on study requirements and configuration.
Baseline assessment
Baseline data are collected using the selected validated measurement instruments.
Study tools and design
All digital tools required for the study can be developed by the research team or in collaboration with Amni Care. These are tailored to the study’s objectives and methodology. Participant information materials and other study documents can also be integrated into the same digital structure, enabling automated delivery within the programme. This may include longitudinal treatment modules, journals, rating scales, or combinations of instruments. Where research is conducted alongside routine clinical activity, Amni Care supports data collection within existing workflows.
Ongoing data collection
Amni Care enables continuous or periodic data collection at defined intervals, ranging from frequent short-term measurements to long-term follow-up over several months or years.
Notifications and reminders
Participants are notified via SMS or email when new tasks or forms are available. Automated reminders are issued at 24 and 72 hours if responses are not completed, supporting high response rates and data completeness.
Follow-up assessment
Post-intervention or end-of-study measurements are collected using the same structured approach as baseline assessments, ensuring consistency and comparability of data.
Analysis and export
Data can be exported at any stage of the study for further analysis in statistical software such as SPSS. Exports are available in .csv format and can be provided in anonymised or coded form where required. Research-specific reporting tools are also available to support analysis and interpretation.
How we collaborate
As your digital partner, Amni Care supports organisations throughout the full lifecycle of research and development, including:
- project planning and implementation support
- coordination with existing Amni Care customers and partners
- contribution to funding applications where appropriate
- development of new digital tools and clinical solutions

- distribution and implementation of newly developed tools across our customer base
This collaborative approach enables efficient development, validation, and scaling of digital solutions in real-world healthcare settings.
Our approach
Our aim is to act as a long-term digital partner to healthcare organisations. Supporting research and development is a core component of this approach, contributing to service improvement and the advancement of patient care.
Support for research is provided as part of this wider commitment, rather than as a primary commercial activity. Each collaboration is agreed on a case-by-case basis, ensuring that arrangements are appropriate to the specific requirements of the research and the organisations involved.
The following principles underpin our approach:
- recovery of costs associated with the support and services provided
- ownership of collected data remains with the researchers or their employing organisations
- Amni Care is granted appropriate rights to use agreed outputs, such as newly developed digital tools, within the platform
- decisions regarding the dissemination and use of research outputs, including whether these are made available without charge or subject to a fee, remain with the researchers or their organisations
